About this blog
SgTraderClub has been publishing market commentary since 2009. It began as a notebook — somewhere to keep charts, data and observations where I could find them again — and turned into a weekly record that other people started reading.
It publishes every Sunday. Each post is a written wrap of the week across Singapore, the United States, Hong Kong and China, with performance tables covering the Straits Times Index constituents, the Hang Seng constituents, the US sector ETFs and the major global benchmarks. The tables are built from close-of-week data and published as images, so you can read the whole week at a glance rather than hunting through a dozen sources.
It's free, there's no paywall, and there's nothing to sign up for beyond email notifications if you want them.
Who writes it
I'm Fan Jun, a Trading Representative with Maybank Securities in Singapore. I work with clients across the Singapore, Hong Kong and US markets, and I've followed these markets closely for more than fifteen years.
My approach leans on both charts and fundamentals. That's why the weekly posts pair the performance tables with a technical read of where the major indices sit — the numbers tell you what happened, the charts give some sense of the context it happened in.
What this blog is not
- Not investment advice. It's general market commentary and my own opinion. It doesn't take account of your objectives, financial situation or needs.
- Not a research report. Where I refer to research from Maybank or other houses, I attribute it. Those are their views, not mine.
- No signals, no tips, no track record. I don't publish buy and sell calls, I don't run a paid group, and I make no claims about past or future performance.
- Historical posts are not maintained. Anything published here reflects conditions at the time of writing. Older posts are left as a record, not as current views.
